Therapy

Reaching out to a therapist for the first time takes courage.

Whether you know exactly what you want to work on or you're not quite sure where to start, the most important thing is that you've decided something needs to change. That's enough.

Initial Consultation

Before we begin, I offer a free 30-minute phone call. It's a chance to talk about what's brought you to therapy, ask any questions you might have, and get a sense of whether we'd work well together. No pressure, no commitment. Just a conversation.

Transactional Analysis (TA)

TA is rooted in a simple but powerful philosophy. We are all born OK, everyone has the capacity to think, and the decisions we've made about how to live, often shaped by early experiences, can be revisited and changed. It gives us a shared language for understanding where our patterns come from and how to shift them.

Counselling and Psychotherapy

People come to therapy for all kinds of reasons. Anxiety, depression, grief and loss, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties and life transitions are among the things I work with most often. I also work with people who are beginning to recognise how early experiences, difficult family dynamics or childhood trauma are still shaping the way they live and relate today. I have a particular interest in relational trauma and the long reach of the past into present relationships. Whether you come with something specific in mind or simply a sense that things could be different, I'd welcome that conversation.

Sessions take place in person at my practice in Craobh Haven, or online via Zoom. We'd discuss together what frequency works best for you, though weekly sessions are usually recommended in the early stages.

Couples Therapy

Every relationship goes through difficult patches. But sometimes the distance between two people grows quietly, over months or years, until conversations feel like negotiations, small disagreements carry a much bigger weight, and you've both stopped saying the things that actually matter. Life transitions, a bereavement, a new child, work pressures, or simply the accumulated strain of time can all pull couples apart in ways that are hard to name but impossible to ignore.

Couples therapy offers a space where both of you can speak and, perhaps more importantly, feel genuinely heard. Working together, we'd look at the patterns that have developed between you, where they come from, and what might need to shift. Communication tends to be at the heart of most couples work, but it's rarely just about talking more - it's about understanding each other differently. Sessions last 90 minutes and take place in person at Craobh Haven or online

Clinical Supervision

I offer clinical supervision for qualified psychotherapists, counsellors, and trainees at any stage of their professional journey. I appreciate deeply the value of my own supervision, not just as a professional requirement, but as a genuine support to my wellbeing and my work. It's that same experience I aim to hold for the people I supervise.

Supervision with me is a space to reflect, think carefully about your clinical work, and develop your practice in a way that feels grounded and sustainable. My core modality is Transactional Analysis. I work with individuals and groups, online and in person, and I'm a Provisional Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst (PTSTA).

Individual supervision sessions are available for 60 or 90 minutes, monthly or by negotiation. Group supervision runs for three hours with up to three participants.
